Retirement

Personal pension.
Retirement – why should I get advice? When you’re coming up to retirement you have lots of decisions to make, not least how to convert your pension pot into retirement income. Why get help? Unless you’re in a pension scheme that pays you an income based on your salary once you retire (final salary scheme), you’re most likely to be saving into a scheme that provides you with a sum of money (known as your pension pot). If that’s the case, you’ll have to decide how you are going to use your pension pot to provide an income when you retire.

Investments

Investments – why should I get advice? The reasons you are best to seek Independent Financial Advice on investments are that clearly care must be taken in selecting the types of investments to match the risk and timescales dictated by your individual investment objectives. This should also be associated with the separate elements of the overall investment pot, by doing so we at De Beul Kerr can help you achieve greater financial worth and security for you and your families benefit too.

Mortgages

Why have Mortgage Advice? A mortgage is conceivably one of the biggest financial commitments most of us are likely to face in our lifetime, and with so many lenders offering so many products, the choices can be bewildering. Our professional independent advice will help guide you through the complexities of today’s mortgage markets, making the process as straight forward as possible, with the aim of ensuring you have a mortgage to suit your current needs and circumstances.

Protection

There are four main types of protection policies which are: Life Cover – arranged on either a term or whole of life basis and pays a lump sum Critical Illness – pays out a lump sum if you succumb to a predefined condition Income Protection – pays a monthly percentage of your lost income due to incapacity Private Medical Insurance – pays for private hospital medical treatments

Group Pensions

What is a Group Pension? Group Pension Schemes, have been around for a very long time. It is where a small amount of money is deducted from an employee’s wage and directly paid towards their pension. But the law on workplace pensions has recently changed, making it the employer’s legal duty to ensure that employees are placed into a workplace pension, this is called auto enrolment.

Equity Release

What is Equity Release? If you’re a homeowner, you’ve probably seen the value in your home increase over time. Equity release allows you to tap into some of this value and release a cash sum. Equity release is a way of releasing the wealth tied up in your property without having to sell it and move to another home. You can either borrow against the value of your home or sell all or part of it in exchange for a lump sum or a regular monthly income. Some plans give you the option to “draw down” further equity (cash) at a later date, based on your requirements. Click image to go to our Equity Release specific website.

Tax

Income tax planning can make a significant difference to the tax you pay. By planning for income tax, you should be able to take advantage of any opportunities to minimise your tax bill. Personal tax planning can present additional options, for example in terms of capital gains tax and inheritance tax. This outline provides a brief introduction to personal income tax planning and other personal tax planning issues. If you are in business, this should be part of a broader look at your overall business taxes.
